Takeda taps longtime FleishmanHillard alum to head up global corporate brand and content

A new appointee with more than two decades of comms experience will soon take the reins of Takeda’s worldwide brand strategy.

The Big Pharma has selected Anne de Schweinitz to serve as head of global corporate brand and content, a Takeda spokesperson confirmed to Fierce Pharma Marketing via email. In her new role, de Schweinitz will report to Joao Belo, head of global communications, according to the spokesperson, who added, “We are all excited for Anne to join our Global Communications team and look forward to working with her.”

PRWeek was first to report the new hire, citing an internal company memo that reportedly listed de Schweinitz’s start date as Sept. 9. According to the Thursday report, the memo described the role as putting de Schweinitz in charge of Takeda’s overall brand strategy, spanning reputation, brand management, corporate marketing and enterprise storytelling efforts, as well as the company’s social media and digital platforms.

De Schweinitz will join Takeda after racking up more than 25 years at various PR agencies. She’s spent the last 13 years at FleishmanHillard, most recently as global managing director of its health and life sciences practice, a senior VP and senior partner role at the comms giant.

Before that, she held leadership roles at Hill & Knowlton, Big Arrow Group and, for almost a decade between 1999 and 2009, MS&L, which has since rebranded as MSL following its 2009 merger with Publicis Consultants.

In a post on her LinkedIn page Thursday, de Schweinitz reflected fondly on her time at FleishmanHillard while looking ahead to her next posting.

“I’m very excited to let everyone know that I will be joining the fantastic group at Takeda in early September to head up their Global Corporate Brand and Content team. I can’t wait to dig in and get started!” she wrote. “Thank you to the team at Takeda for taking the leap and selecting me for the role!”

She continued, “I’ve enjoyed an incredible 13+ year run at FleishmanHillard and have deep admiration for the people and work we’ve done. It’s not easy to leave but new adventures beckon. Thank you to everyone for your friendship, support, and camaraderie over the years!”
